Tobin+Parnes Design Enterprises launched in 1983, when Robert Parnes asked long-time friend Carol Tobin to co-pitch a large residential job. At the time, Tobin was both teaching at Parsons School of Design and working on various commercial projects for a top design firm. Parnes had formed his own company following ten years of work for a large real estate developer. During that tenure his restoration and renovation of prominent NYC properties enabled him to master not only challenging architectural objectives but many tasks that go beyond – such as working with city, state and federal agencies, and juggling large scale construction schedules and budgets. Working together, Tobin and Parnes found that their combination of unprecedented creativity and pragmatic construction solutions produced extraordinary results.
Since that time, Tobin and Parnes have been called on to provide services for some of the most high-profile restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, corporations, landmark locations and retail destinations throughout the country.
