536 BroadwayLobby, NYC
This historic New York SOHO building, built in 1898, had been renovated in the 1950’s in a style typical for that period. By peeling away the acoustical hung ceiling and ceramic tile walls, the original and elegant design of the lobby was revealed. The plaster ceiling details were restored and artistically painted, the terrazzo floor was refurbished and the mahogany moldings were added in the style of the period. A sheetrock enclosure covering the elevator was removed and the original decorative metal elevator surround was revealed and restored. |
