Tobin+Parnes Showcased in Healthcare Design Magazine

The Parker Jewish Institute for Care and Rehabilitation in New Hyde Park, NY commissioned Tobin+Parnes to undertake the renovation of the Institute's main entry and lobby as well as the creation of a Nature Corner and new Family Lounge. The design team worked closely with the Institute to incorporate their humanistic vision for a warm, inviting, non-institutional environment that welcomes residents and personnel. Tobin+Parnes’ used rich wood finishes, custom millwork details, and soothing nature-inspired colors on the walls and ceilings to transform the 6,150 sq. foot space into a residential-like setting that encourages social interaction in a healing environment. As a result, the design was chosen to be featured in Healthcare Design’s annual Architectural Showcase issue in September 2006.
The Windy City is Now Home to S. USA’s Sales Office and Retail Service Center

TPDE took a leap in redefining the corporate office space through the completion of the S. USA Chicago’s Creative Marketing and Sales Offices and the adjoining S. USA Chicago Customer Service Center. Both projects represent over 17,000 square-feet of innovative design technology.
“Because of the dynamic work environments of the latest decade, companies must create a welcoming work/live environment that captures employees attention and helps to make work a quality of life, not just a place of work,” said Carol Tobin.
Central to the concept of a living/working hybrid environment was the development of a “meditation room,” an open, airy space that offers employees an area for quiet reflection during their hectic day. Additionally, TPDE’s design team avoided the typical “cube farm” approach and selected colors, fixtures, and furnishings typically found in a modern living environment.
A Study in Landmark Restoration

Mazama Capital Management, a leading investment advisory firm headquartered in Oregon, commissioned TPDE to design their NYC office space located in the landmark Seagram Building.
The goal was to reflect their corporate philosophy “People Make the Difference.” TPDE used natural, warm materials, comfortable yet businesslike furnishings and a color palette that embraced Mazama’s Oregon origins. The end result was an inviting and warm atmosphere, mixed with functional and productive workspaces that conveyed Mazama as independent, serious and also approachable.
